On October 5, 2021, the following programme changes took effect:
Vaporizing whole flower cannabis as a therapeutic cannabis form. Currently, licenced distributors do not carry entire flower cannabis. In response to this new form, the Department is examining and approving brands. After final product approval, patients may buy full floral pieces. Please contact the registered organisation distribution facility for availability. Know about https://express-marijuana.com/category/states/new-york/
The charge waiver for patients and caregivers is now permanent.
Registering an organisation permits them to deliver a sixty (60) day supply of medical marijuana to a registered patient.
Dentists, podiatrists, and midwives may now certify patients for therapeutic marijuana use. Practitioners must first complete a two-hour training session and register with the Department.
Visit www.cannabis.ny.gov for additional information about the MRTA.
Please check back often for updates.
According to the NYS Department of Health, vaping-related serious pulmonary (lung) problems have been reported around the nation. Since the outbreak investigation began, no adverse occurrences have been related to licenced products in the NYS Medical Marijuana Program. Medical marijuana products approved by the Department are thoroughly tested for contaminants, pesticides, and THC and CBD (CBD). While the investigation is underway, we recommend people to discuss alternatives to vaping with their physicians.

Medicaid Clarifies Coverage for Medical Marijuana Office Visits:
Medicaid does not cover MMJ. Medicaid reimburses medical marijuana practitioner office visits. Medical marijuana certification given during or after the initial session is free for Medicaid enrollees. Medicaid patients who use out-of-network or non-Medicaid doctors may still be charged. Patients should call beforehand to make sure their evaluator accepts Medicaid.
