We require a compassionate individual to work one-on-one with individuals attempting to overcome an eating disorder or other types of food dysfunction. You, the caregiver, are motivated to assist the patient in overcoming their disordered habits because you want to make a difference in someone's life.

Responsibilities

Participate in a training/orientation workshop for support personnel with Krisztina Marshall, a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity and the founder of the Heemang Foundation.

Affectionately supporting someone as they face whatever the night may bring (for instance, late night conversations addressing anxious thoughts, supporting them to disengage with disordered behaviours, etc.) employer specific work permits in BC.

Developing one's own assertiveness and resilience in the face of hardship.

A key focus of treatment is teaching individuals how to take care of themselves in daily situations.

Collaboration with other medical professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

Organizing and promoting purposeful days is an essential duty. This may involve encouraging the individual to pursue their hobbies, aiding them in joining groups, or motivating them to gain new skills.

Understanding how the individual communicates, thinks, and behaves is vital for influencing them to engage in activities that are advantageous to the company.

Assisting people in overcoming challenges and developing greater self-confidence, compassion, and self-respect will be one of the most rewarding aspects of your profession.

Capacity to possess

Effective verbal and nonverbal interaction (verbal and written)

Knowledge and skill

Training will be provided in which you will learn about Heemang Foundation's values and our person-centered approach; thus, mental health/community or social work experience is a bonus but not needed.

After completing your training and orientation, you will feel confident in your ability to provide high-quality care to the person you support. During following training sessions, new information about the person you are assisting will be added to your existing body of knowledge.
