We need a compassionate person to work with people one-on-one who are working to overcome an eating disorder or other forms of food dysfunction. You, the care provider, want to make a difference in someone's life and are motivated to aid them in overcoming their disordered behaviors.

Responsibilities

Join Krisztina Marshall, a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity and the founder of the Heemang Foundation, for a training/orientation session for support staff. employment consultancy in BC.

Affectionately bolstering someone as they face the night and everything it may bring (for instance, late night conversations addressing anxious thoughts, supporting them to disengage with disordered behaviours, etc.)

Fostering one's own sense of assertiveness and ability to deal with adversity.

Helping people learn how to take care of themselves in everyday situations is a major focus of treatment.

Collaborating with other medical experts to guarantee the best quality of care for patients.

Promoting and organizing purposeful days is a crucial duty. This can take the form of facilitating the pursuit of the person's interests, assisting them in joining groups, or inspiring them to acquire new abilities.

Getting to know the individual is crucial, as is understanding how they communicate, think, and behave so that you may influence them to take activities that are beneficial to the organization.

One of the best parts of your job will be assisting others in overcoming obstacles and developing greater self-assurance, compassion, and esteem.

Knowledge and practice

Training will be offered where you will learn about Heemang Foundation's ideals and our person-centred approach, therefore prior experience in the mental health area / community or social work is a plus but not required.

Once you've finished your training and orientation, you'll feel ready to confidently give high-quality care to the person you assist. New information about the person you're helping will be added to your existing body of knowledge during subsequent training sessions.
